This weekend offerings are all over the map! Steampunk-inspired adaptations, scary prequels and unwanted sequels. Now, we think if only someone could write a movie about an awkward, brainless steampunk spy that hunts demons we would really be onto something!
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3
“It Runs In The Family.”
Directing: Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman
Writing: Christopher B. Landon, Oren Peli (characters)
Starring: Chloe Csengery, Jessica Tyler Brown, Christopher Nicholas Smith
A prequel to ‘Paranormal Activity‘ and ‘Paranormal Activity 2‘, the third instalment in this series is set in September 1988, outlining Katie and Kristi’s first encounter with their paranormal stalker.
Price of Admission will get you some pretty damn good scares… just in time for Hallowe’en!
Running Time · 85 min
Genre · Horror
Rated · R
THE THREE MUSKETEERS (2011)
“Every legend has a new beginning.”
Directing: Paul W.S. Anderson
Writing: Alex Litvak (screenplay), Andrew Davies, Alexandre Dumas (novel)
Starring: Matthew Macfadyen, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom
At this point in time, we’d hope you all know the story of ‘The Three Musketeers’ … but this movie decides to jazz up the plot with some airships and crazy gadgetry!
Price of Admission will get you a steampunk-ish adaptation of the classic novel. Apparently, welding goggles makes any movie better!
Running Time · 110 min
Genre · Action / Adventure / Romance
Rated · PG-13
JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN
“One man. One mission. No chance.”
Directing: Oliver Parker
Writing: William Davies, Hamish McColl (screenplay), Neal Purvis, Robert Wade (characters)
Starring: Rowan Atkinson, Rosamund Pike, Dominic West
Oh boy! Johnny English is back in action! Remember back in 2003 when he bumbled his way onto the big screen the first time? Yeah, that’s what we thought – no one does, because no one cared. Here we are eight years later and we’re assuming that people still don’t care.
Price of Admission will get you another movie about a blundering, dim-witted spy who lucks his way through his mission and miraculously comes out a hero instead of just a corpse.
Running Time · 101 min
Genre · Adventure / Comedy / Thriller
Rated · PG
