With many people still on holiday and no new major releases at the movies, all the previously released flicks had a significant increase in their numbers from last weekend.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ is virtually unstoppable! It claimed the top spot again this weekend bringing its total domestic gross to almost $135M. At this rate it is completely possible for ‘Ghost Protocol’ to match or surpass the $181M earned back in 1996 by the original ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ held onto the second spot with $22M, and a 9% rise in ticket sales. ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked’ jumped up to the third position due to an astonishing 45% increase in ticket sales!

Now, if you’re impressed with that figure, you’d better brace yourself because tickets for Steven Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’ jumped a staggering 125%!? This heart-warming equine tale leapt from the seventh spot all the way to the fourth! People just love Joey!!!

  1. I really want to see “War Horse.” It is playing at live theatres right now too. They have some pretty awesome puppets as the horses…it sounds lame, but they look SO real. There are videos of it on YouTube.

  2. there was a funny SNL skit about the War Horse play.
also, why is there a third Alvin and the Chipmunks movie? poor Jason Lee…

    • That SNL skit about the War Horse play was pretty funny…hopefully the play Nicole is talking about is a better than that one!!

      Poor Jason Lee indeed!!!
He’s on the list of “Who the hell is in charge of your career, man!?!” actors. With the likes of Billy Zane, Eric Stoltz and Cuba Gooding Jr.!! But, at least Lee can say he has a movie people are going to see…what have those other guys been doing lately?!
