Midseason T.V. Premieres – Jan 11, 2012

Its all about quirky, comedic ladies tonight on NBC.

Returning from the holiday hiatus is our favourite commitment-phobe, ‘Whitney’, at 8 PM. We really love this show and it’s over-the-top comedy. The chemistry between Whitney and Alex is amazing, its what keeps us tuning in. We can’t wait to see what insane antics the couple gets up to next.

At 8:30 PM we get to meet NBC’s newest modern lady in the premiere of ‘Are you there, Chelsea?’. ‘That 70’s Show’ alum, Laura Prepon, plays Chelsea, a sassy, free-spirited bartender. Her cast of wacky co-workers, friends and family round out the ensemble for this new half hour comedy. We’re not 100% sure on this show, but we’ll give it a chance.

‘The People’s Choice Awards’ start the awards season tonight on CBS at 9 PM. ‘The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Couco hosts the activities. Aimed more towards the younger generations, this is more of a party than an awards show.

Also Premiering tonight

One Tree Hill – The CW 8 PM
Ghost Hunters – Syfy 9 PM
Face Off – Syfy 10 PM

Also Returning tonight:

Harry’s Law – NBC 9 PM
Law & Order: SVU –  NBC 10 PM

About surlygurls

We’re two SurlyGurls brought together by a love of all things awesome and an equal hate of all things which are an affront to awesomeness everywhere.

  1. She looks a lot better as a redhead!

  2. Enjoying several of your posts! I too enjoy Parks and Rec and Whitney. I hate that critics haven’t given it more positive reviews, but they are critics after all… Also right on with the Golden Globe reviews. Keep up the surly work!

    • Thanks! We were also surprised by the mediocre reception ‘Whitney’ received!
Every week is consistently funny and the characters are a lot edgier and clever than those in similar sitcoms. Oh, well. Like you say… they are just critics after all.
