And the Golden Globe Goes To…

So, our collective SurlyGurl total of correct predictions for tonight’s Golden Globe awards was 15/25; for those of you who suck at math that’s a 60% level of accuracy. Not our best showing, but we’ll make it up at the Oscars.

Some of our losses we can not be faulted for as who the hell saw Kelsey Grammer ever winning anything… ever… again. And Matt LeBlanc winning for playing himself!?! Seriously! Madonna’s win in the Original Song category was also a shocker. We listened to that song and it sounds exactly like every other Madonna song in the past 10 years! Not to mention her little comeback to Ricky Gervais was weak at best.

Speaking of Ricky Gervais, he was on a short leash this year. Sure, he was entertaining and got a few good zingers in but nothing like last year’s impromptu all-star roast, in which no one was left unscathed.

  1. I voted on 14 categories – the movie ones only – and I got six right. I think that’s decent considering that I spent a total of five minutes choosing! …also, I can’t believe that the director of “The Artist” didn’t win for Best Director. Seriously?!? It’s a black and white silent film made in 2011!! It should win on that, nevermind the fact that it’s supposed to be an awesome movie too! I haven’t seen it yet…I wish I had.
